Why we need your support

In order to operate as a charity we need to raise almost $750,000 each year, from scratch and without any statutory income.

Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy Australia is a registered charity (CFN 13789) that receives no government assistance for its core operations. We rely on the generosity of our supporters to bring the benefits of music therapy to the lives of those in need.

You can help us build on our success to date by getting involved and investing in our future, so we can continue our work in enhancing the quality of people’s lives.

All donations over $2 are tax deductible and a receipt will be issued.

Your support enables us to:

  • Provide over 200 music therapy sessions each week, all led by therapists registered with the Australian Music Therapy Association Inc (AMTA).
  • Operate The Golden Stave Music Therapy Centre in Kingswood, and run 50 regional outreach projects annually
  • Train the music therapists of the future through our masters programmes, run in conjunction with The University of Western Sydney.
  • Undertake and publish research projects, support staff undertaking research, and promote Nordoff-Robbins music therapy to professionals and the public through publications and events.

We also need to offer suitable locations, access to instruments and recording equipment to evaluate sessions.

The demand for trained music therapists to work with children and adults continues to grow. We are currently looking at ways to expand the services we provide, by either expanding the building we currently work out of, or by utilising existing community spaces where we might be able to operate. In both instances additional funding will be required to purchase instruments and other vital equipment, and then to fund a therapist’s ongoing salary and expenses.
