Penrith Myer donates $6000 through Workplace Giving

The wonderful staff from Myer, Penrith today presented Nordoff-Robbins with a cheque for over $6000, the proceeds of 12 months of fundraising on our behalf.

Like a growing number of organisations, Myer Penrith take their social responsibility seriously, and each year choose a charity to fund raise for. This year Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy was chosen after being nominated by a staff member who had visited the Centre in Kingswood, and seen first hand the work we were doing.

Myer Penrith 2012

However, unlike other organisations who make weekly donations from their pay into a Workplace Giving program, the staff at Myer, Penrith take a more hands on approach.  The staff got creative in their endeavour to raise funds, running staff BBQs, raffles, even having a bake-off (won by the Store manager!) and knitting scarves which were sold to staff.

After meeting the team it is clear that they are dedicated to making a difference in the community and were interested to learn more about Nordoff-Robbins and the difference their donation will make.

Myer, Penrith's donation will help bridge the gap between the true cost of music therapy, and fees most clients can afford to pay.  The gap is substantial and there-in lies the challenge.  We are extremely grateful to the staff at Myer for choosing to help Nordoff-Robbins this year, and thank them for the efforts that they went to. Your donation will make a huge difference in the lives of our clients.
