Transforming Lives through Music

Notes 4 Notes is a program designed to make it possible for everyday people – individuals and organisations – to become involved with Nordoff-Robbins and to provide the personal gift of music therapy through the sponsorship of an individual, group or piece of equipment.

The program is in response to three important needs –the desire of donors to receive feedback on the progress we are making, to fill an ever-increasing gap between client fees and operating costs, and to enable donors to give small donations towards a specific project. The project can fulfill on all three.

The majority of clients are not in a position to pay for the full cost of their therapy and as an organisation this leaves Nordoff-Robbins heavily reliant on fundraising to help bridge the gap between the fees clients can pay and the full cost of operating the purpose-built music therapy centre in Kingswood, particularly as we do not receive any government funding.

Balancing the need to bridge this gap with the knowledge that we are in very tough economic times, Notes 4 Notes is designed to allow individuals, community groups and businesses who want to support the work we do, to contribute small but regular amounts. The sponsor determines the amount the donor can afford each month.

Importantly, this program also allows us to provide feedback to our sponsors on the progress of the client or group that they are assisting and see the difference that their sponsorship is making, while still respecting the privacy of our clients.  This program allows us to build that connection with sponsors.

For anyone who would like to support our work but would prefer not to direct their donation to wards a particular client, we have the option of sponsoring music therapy equipment. We have an ongoing need for instruments, audio visual equipment and office equipment. This is a valuable way to support the work we do.

“We hope the program will appeal to anyone who would like to make a difference,” concluded Ms Ritherdon. “This is a great way to get involved at a level with which you are comfortable. I would encourage everyone – individuals, families, community groups and businesses to consider if this is for you. It’s a very rewarding way to give a little back.”

How long do you need to sponsor for?

Sponsors can select from one-off, fixed-term or ongoing sponsorships. Your sponsorship is helping to bridge the gap between the true cost of music therapy, and the fees clients can afford to pay. The client you choose to sponsor and the term of your sponsorship will determine if you are a sole or contributing sponsor.

How much does it cost to become a sponsor?

The cost of sponsorship varies depending on the client you would like to sponsor, and the length of time you elect to sponsor.  Importantly however “Notes 4 Notes” is aimed at making sponsorship achievable and rewarding for all. No matter how little or how much you wish to sponsor, Nordoff-Robbins is committed to aligning your sponsorship to a client who can benefit the most from your support. If the full cost of a client’s therapy is beyond your budget, your sponsorship will be combined with that of others to contribute to covering the cost of a client’s therapy. Every dollar counts.

What do I get in return for becoming a sponsor?

In return for your ongoing support we will be very pleased to offer you the following:-
